Gospel Homily for 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Gospel-based homily for this Sunday is entitled The Faith of the Canaanite Woman .

Sometimes it is easier to accept the Divinty of Jesus, than to accept his humanity. Your homily for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary time helped me to better understand Jesus the man, who was part of the culture within which he was raised.

If his culture was prejudice against the Cannanite people, it is only reasonable to expect that Jesus too would have those prejudices. Having them though did not mean that he would need to hold onto them throughout his adult life. He was able to let go of bias within the Jewish culture of his time.

Your homily helped me to be more grateful than ever that God decided to become one of us. It makes it so much easier for me to know God when I can see him through the eyes of someone just like me. Jesus the man becomes much more real and easier to love.
