Epistle Homily for 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Epistle-based homily for this Sunday is entitled How Inscrutable Are God’s Ways .

St. Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologica is one of the most important theological books ever written. For many centuries it remained for Catholics the beginning and end of theology. What many people do not know is that St Thomas did not complete that work. You see, Thomas was a theologian as well as a mystic. Toward the end of his life, Thomas had a mystical experience in which he was granted a glimpse of the divine glory. In comparison with what he saw, he felt that what he wrote about God in the Summa was thrash. His theological treatise was such a poor representation of the mystery of God that Thomas wanted to burn the book. Fortunately, his brother friars prevented him from doing so. ... Read more .

Fr. Munachi,
Your homilies are great but come too late to be used. I would suggest you stay one week ahead of the Sunday in question.

fr Munachi,
thanks a lot for your inspiring one point homilies. I have been using it for sometime already as my jumpstart for my homilies. Jumpstart in a sense that I need to contextualize the message to suit the needs of the community by making it more palatable to their experiences. Like what others were saying, I hope the delivery will be a week in advance although I understand it the pressure on your part. Nonetheless, I do pray that the Spirit of wisdom and understanding inspire you more these coming years so that you will continue to enrich many many people through this very important ministry.

DEAR FR. MUNACHI,
EVERY WEEK I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SUNDAY HOMILIES BOTH ON THE GOSPEL AND AS WELL ON THE EPISTLES. I AM A MEMBER OF A CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY IN WHICH I AM INVOLVED IN SAYING A FEW INTRODUCTORY WORDS PRECEEDING EITHER ONE OF THE EPISTLES AND/OR THE GOSPEL. YOUR HOMILIES ARE A SPRING BOARD FROM WHERE I DEDUCT AND CONVEY YOUR MESSAGE TO THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE CELEBRATION OF THE HOLY MASS AND EUCHARIST EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT. MAY THE LORD FURTHER INSPIRE YOU IN THE WORK YOU ARE DOING TO THE BENEFIT OF MANY CHRISTIANS AROUND THE WORLD.

I thank God for your life and those off all whom you love and all who share in the christian faith and the entire world.

I have only found this web last week and its good feeling to be able to have a sermon away from church when i truly cannot make it.

As we go through this holy week, i pray the Lord will look down upon as and be merciful to us, that his face will shine upon and be gracious to us.

I pray the Lord will give us strengh to live a life that Christ want us to live.

I pray that we forget about our past and all the wrong we have done and take Gods word for it and focus on the future and tap into the power of the Holy spirit to do what christ asked us to.

we ask this Through Jesus Christ our Lord through whose mercy we are called christians.

May all the saits and Blessed vergin Mary continue to pray for us.

Amen.

Dear homilist, I so much appreciate your effort here as a medium to spreading the living word of God. I read your homily on the solemnity of the Holy Family: you believe that one needs more time privately with one's family before coming out publicly. If I may ask, does one not required some times to break out from the family especially when the ideology, philosophy and mentality governing this family is dangerous for proper living?

Fr Munachi,
Your Homilies are very good. I am a priest and am so busy for I am a student too. These homilies are the backbone of what I preach on Sundays.

I need to contextualize them within the bioecological environment of my Parish but they are superb in any way.

I would request that they come early in the Week so we can contextualize the message to the audience. Greeat! God bless you and your endeavors.
